Two associate professors, ten postgraduate students, three professional technicians, and numerous sets of traditional experimental equipment are housed in the Fracturing and Acidizing Technology R&D Center.
Oil and gas field fracturing, guar gum fracturing fluids, and acidizing working fluids are the team's primary areas of focus for research, technological promotion, and application. It has created more than ten anhydrous fracturing fluid technologies based on oil, propane-based LPG fracturing fluid technologies, VES clean fracturing fluid technologies, low-cost water-based fracturing fluid technologies that repel oil, and water-based fracturing fluid technologies based on emulsion polymers.
The three most widely used in oilfields and yielding substantial societal and economic benefits are guar gum fracturing technology, anhydrous fracturing fluid technology, and clean fracturing fluid technology. We have also conducted research on the following topics in recent years: supercritical carbon dioxide thickening technology, polymer decongestant, solid hydrochloric acid industrial production technology, intelligent oil repellent technology, coalbed methane resolver technology, acid fracturing thickener, and self-suspended proppant and its fracturing fluid preparation technology.
Over ten large-scale instruments, including an ion chromatograph, a dilute solution viscoelasticity tester, a surface tension meter, a contact angle meter, a core damage meter, a Hacker MARS60 rheometer, and so forth, are already in possession of the research team studying the performance of fracturing fluids.
